Why I Built fammtree
I was sitting with my family during the holidays, trying to explain how everyone was connected.
My aunt was asking about our grandparents' siblings. My nephew wanted to know how he was related to his second cousins. I pulled out my phone to quickly sketch a family tree.
Every tool I found either:
• Required an account and wanted my DNA
• Was designed for serious genealogy researchers
• Made me feel like my family data was the product
I just wanted to draw a simple tree and share it.
So I built fammtree.
It's for people like me - people who want to visualize their family, not become genealogy researchers. People who care about privacy. People who don't want another subscription.
